Advent Quiet Day Retreat

Advent Quiet Day Retreat

Nov 26: 10am-1pm (in the church/see house)

This is a silent retreat that will conclude with a light lunch and conversation in the See House…

This retreat will follow a format of silence, reflection, prayer, music, journaling…

It wil be based on the book we will be reading for the Advent Books & Conversations on Mondays in Advent..

Using the book: Holy is His Name: Daily Devotions for Advent (by Elis Hiu-Mei Lui)

The first two chapters of the Gospel of Luke offer four songs, also known as canticles, as companions for the journey through Advent to Christ's birth. Starting with the beloved canticle, the Magnificat, these daily devotions explore the hope, peace, and liberation promised to us all. In this season of Advent, sing and pray these words of joy and proclaim that indeed, holy is his name.

Author: Elis Hiu-Mei Lui is a youth minister in the Episcopal Diocese of New York. She is a 1.5-generation Asian American; a lifelong Hongkonger, Floridian, and Southerner. She has an undergraduate degree in Classics and Religion from Florida State University. She routinely nerds out about liturgy, feminist pedagogy, and nuns.
