The Bishop's Tea House

Guests visiting the Bishop's Tea House in the Undercroft of the See House.
For the past few summers, the Outreach Committee at St. Peter's has sponsored a welcoming ministry for visitors to Sitka. Set in the undercroft, there are five tables set up for a conversational rest stop. Tea and coffee are offered at no charge. Homemade scones, cookies and muffins are available at a nominal charge. The guests seem to enjoy this brief respite from trekking across town to see the "tourist attractions."
The funds are used during the year for outreach needs such as the SAFV shelter, the Salvation Army and many other requests for assistance that come before the Outreach committee. "Miss Ginny" (seen at the very back of this photo) spearheads the crew and also bakes the delightful scones that are served hot from the oven.
