Pledge FAQ
1) I pledged last year. Does my pledge automatically renew?
Answer: Pledges do not renew automatically! If you pledged last year,
you still need to turn in a pledge sheet for this year. Pledge sheets
are available in the back of the church, in the See House or by calling
the office to request one.
2) I give regularly. Why do I need to turn in a pledge sheet?
Answer: We are grateful for your regular gifts of time, talent and
treasure. Turning in a pledge sheet allows us to develop our budget
knowing how much income we can count on receiving. If your offering
comes in the form of a pledge, the receiving treasurer will issue you
quarterly statements so you know how much you've paid. The statements
can be used as supporting documents for your tax return if you or your
accountant need them.
3) I don't want everyone to know how much I give. How is my privacy protected?
Answer: The receiving treasurer is the only person who sees your pledge
sheet and your offerings. All that information is confidential and no
one else has access to it.
4) What's the money used for anyway?
Answer: All money received by St. Peter's is used for day-to-day
operations and in support of ministries such as Wednesday School and
worship. The income statements are published in the St. Peter's Keys or
are available upon request.
5) What's important about this year?
Answer: As St. Peter's continues the process of searching for and
calling a new rector, it's very important that we continue our tradition
of financial support. Potential candidates will be looking at our
finances; we would like to be in the best possible position to offer a
good candidate a competitive salary and benefit package. Your financial
support will make that happen.
